Dermal fillers in Korea
Dermal fillers are injected gels, most often hyaluronic acid, that restore volume in hollow or creased areas such as the lips, cheeks, nose and smile lines. They suit lost volume, not sagging skin. Our partner clinic lists the injections at under 10 minutes, after numbing cream. Results usually last 6 to 18 months. Allow a few days in Seoul.
Who is a good candidate for dermal fillers?
- Lines or hollows stay visible when your face is still, such as the folds from nose to mouth or between the brows
- You would like fuller lips, a soft roll under the eyes (aegyo sal) or a higher nose bridge without surgery
- Your cheeks or forehead have lost volume
- You want a change you can see straight away and that can be adjusted later
When it may not be the right choice
- Your skin sags. Fillers add volume; they do not lift loose skin
- Your lines appear only when you frown or raise your brows. Those come from muscle movement, which Botox treats
- You have a skin infection, a rash or a cold sore near the area. Tell the doctor about allergies and any past reaction to a filler
- You want filler that never needs repeating. Hyaluronic acid fillers break down over months
Which method fits you?
The clinic lists these areas for fillers: between the brows, the forehead, the under-eye roll (aegyo sal), around the eyes, the folds from nose to mouth, the nose, the lips and the cheeks. It says placing the filler at the right depth for each area is fundamental to a good result, and that fillers can be combined with Botox. Ask the doctor how they lower the blood vessel risk in each area you choose.
| Method | What happens | Suits | Downtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lip filler | Small amounts shape the lip border or add fullness to the lips. | Thin or uneven lips | Lips stay swollen for a few days |
| Nose filler | Filler along the bridge or at the tip adds height without surgery. | A low bridge, when you do not want surgery | Little downtime, though the nose needs particular care with blood vessels |
| Under-eye and aegyo sal filler | A thin layer fills a hollow under the eye or adds a soft roll just below the lower lashes. | Hollows or a flat look under the eyes | Swelling and bruising show easily in this thin skin for a few days |
| Lines and hollows | Filler softens the folds from nose to mouth, lines between the brows and forehead hollows, or restores volume in the cheeks. | Lines that show at rest, flat cheeks | Bruising or swelling usually settles within a few days |
What happens on the day of dermal fillers?
- Consultation and design. The doctor looks at your face at rest and when you smile, and marks the areas and the amount for each.
- Numbing cream goes on the marked areas.
- Filler is injected in small amounts at the planned depth. The clinic lists under 10 minutes, varying by area, and says it uses genuine, approved products in a measured amount.
- The change can be seen soon after the injections, and the final shape shows once the swelling settles.
What is recovery like after dermal fillers?
- Same day
- Redness, swelling, tenderness and small marks at the injection points. Do not press or massage the area unless the doctor tells you to.
- Days 1 to 3
- The NHS says swelling and any bruising usually settle within a few days.
- First weeks
- Small lumps can sometimes be felt as the filler settles. Tell the clinic about any lump that is painful, hard or growing.
- Months 6 to 18
- The filler slowly breaks down, and results usually last 6 to 18 months, depending on the product and the area.
How long should you stay in Seoul after dermal fillers?
There are no stitches to remove or follow-up visits on the clinic’s list, and daily life continues, so fillers suit a short stay. Have them early in your trip rather than just before your flight, so swelling, a lump or an uneven result can be looked at in Seoul, and ask how to send photos once you are home. Keep the product name with your travel documents. A sudden change in vision, severe pain, or skin that turns pale or blotchy after a filler is an emergency: get emergency care first, then tell the clinic.
What are the risks of dermal fillers?
- Bruising, swelling, redness and tenderness at the injection points
- Lumps, an uneven result, or filler that moves away from where it was placed
- A bluish tint where filler sits too close to the surface under thin skin
- Infection at the injection site
- An allergic reaction to the filler
- Filler entering or pressing on a blood vessel, which can block blood flow and cause skin damage, vision loss or blindness, or a stroke. The FDA says the chance is low but the harm can be serious and permanent; sudden vision change, severe pain or pale skin means emergency care first, then tell the clinic. Signs of a stroke, such as a drooping face, a weak arm or slurred speech, need emergency care too
What affects the cost of dermal fillers in Korea?
Filler pricing depends on the product, how much is used, the number of areas and whether Botox is added on the same visit, so no figure is shown on this page. A patient coordinator answers first, then the doctor at the partner clinic that fits your case reviews your photos and consults in depth. Request the product name and the amount for each area in writing, and keep that record for any future top-up or treatment. Our consultation is free for you, and you pay only the clinic’s own price for treatment.
More questions
How long do dermal fillers last?
The NHS says fillers usually last 6 to 18 months, depending on the type of filler and where it is injected.
Can fillers be dissolved if I do not like the result?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can be broken down with an enzyme, hyaluronidase. Doctors use it for lumps, too much filler, uneven results and blood vessel problems, and it may take more than one session. It does not work on other types of filler, so ask which product is used.
What is the difference between fillers and Botox?
Fillers add volume to hollows and lines that show at rest. Botox relaxes the muscles that cause lines when your face moves. The clinic says the two can be combined in one visit.
Which warning signs after fillers are an emergency?
Skin that turns pale, dusky or blotchy, a sudden change in vision, or pain that keeps growing can mean the filler has blocked a blood vessel. Get emergency care first, then tell the clinic. Signs of a stroke, such as a drooping face, a weak arm or slurred speech, need emergency care too.
