Safety measures the clinic lists.

As listed on the clinic’s own website. Ask how each one applies to your operation. Last checked on October 4, 2026.

  • Anesthesiologists on site

Two board-certified anesthesiologists work at the clinic, and the clinic says an anesthesiologist is on site from the pre-op check until after surgery.

  • Checks before surgery

A clinical laboratory technologist works on site, and the health checks before surgery are done at the clinic.

  • Real-time monitoring

Operations are watched in real time on a central monitoring system.

  • CCTV in the operating rooms

Operating rooms have CCTV, for transparency and so staff can respond quickly in an emergency.

  • Emergency drugs and equipment

The clinic keeps dantrolene, the drug used to treat malignant hyperthermia, a serious reaction to anesthesia, along with emergency equipment.

Pre-op tests the clinic lists

  • Blood tests
  • ECG
  • X-ray
  • 3D CT
  • Blood pressure
  • Physical examination
  • Urine test
  • Liver function
  • Kidney function
  • Electrolytes
  • Blood sugar
  • Thyroid function
  • Blood clotting
  • Anemia
  • Blood type
  • Transfusion compatibility
  • Hepatitis B and C
  • Syphilis and HIV
  • Pregnancy test
  • Jaw joint (TMJ) check

Which tests you need depends on the operation and your health, so ask which ones your plan includes.

What the clinic publishes online.

Counts from the clinic’s own Korean website, urbanprs.com. Its before-and-after board shows only cases whose patients agreed to have their photos published, so it covers only part of the clinic’s work. A case can belong to more than one area. Counted on October 3, 2026.

How we publish cases

  • From the clinic that operatedEvery case comes from Urban Plastic Surgery, where the surgery was done.
  • Consent firstPatients agreed to their photos being shown. If a patient withdraws consent, we remove the case.
  • Same anglesBefore-and-after photos are shown from the same angle: front, 45° or side.
  • No editing by usWe don’t retouch, filter or crop the clinic’s photos to flatter a result.
  • Risks alongside resultsEvery procedure page lists its risks and recovery next to the results.

Five checks before you choose a clinic in Korea.

Ask these at any clinic, including our partner clinic.

  1. 1
    A board-certified plastic surgeon

A title such as “cosmetic surgeon” does not tell you a doctor’s specialty. Ask for the surgeon’s name and their plastic surgery board certification.

  2. 2
    Who operates, in writing

Ask for the operating surgeon’s name on the quote. In Korea, operating rooms where patients are under general anesthesia or sedation that leaves them unconscious must have CCTV. The operation is filmed if you ask, though the law allows a few exceptions, so make that request in writing before surgery day.

  3. 3
    Anesthesia by a specialist

Ask who gives the anesthesia and whether an anesthesiologist stays for the whole operation.

  4. 4
    A quote with everything listed

The surgeon’s name, the method, anesthesia, tests, medication, garments, any implant by brand and size, follow-ups, and the revision and refund terms. Treat anything not listed as extra until the clinic confirms it in writing.

  5. 5
An aftercare plan before you fly

Know when stitches come out, the earliest day to fly and how to reach the clinic once you’re home.

How it works, from first message to home.

  1. 01

    Ask in your language

Tell us what you are considering and send photos if you like. A patient coordinator replies by email or in your messaging app, free of charge. The coordinator is not a doctor, so medical questions go to the surgeon.

  2. 02

    Get the surgeon’s view

We connect you with the partner clinic that fits what you want. Its surgeon reviews your photos and explains the options in writing.

  3. 03

Fly in and meet the surgeon

At the in-person consultation, the surgeon examines you, and the clinic confirms your plan and the final written quote before surgery goes ahead.

  4. 04

    Recover in Seoul

Stay close to Gangnam Station for check-ups and, for most procedures, stitch removal. The clinic tells you which day you can fly and how any later stitch removal will be handled.

    Follow up from home

Send photos to the clinic as you heal. They review them remotely and tell you if you need a local doctor. For chest pain, sudden shortness of breath, a swollen painful leg, heavy bleeding, fever or changes in your sight, get emergency care where you are first, then tell the clinic.
