Endoscopic forehead and brow lift in Korea
An endoscopic brow lift, also called an endoscopic forehead and brow lift, raises drooping brows and softens forehead lines through small cuts inside the hairline. It treats low brows that weigh down the upper eyelids. It is usually done under sedation. Stitches come out on day 5 to 7, so most people allow 7 to 10 days in Seoul.
Who is a good candidate for an endoscopic forehead and brow lift?
- Your brows have dropped and push the upper eyelid skin down, so your eyes look heavy or tired
- You have horizontal lines across the forehead or frown lines between the brows
- Low brows make you look stern or angry when you are not
- One brow sits lower than the other
When it may not be the right choice
- Your hairline is already high. Lifting the forehead can raise it further, so a lift through a cut along the hairline, or forehead reduction, may suit you better
- Your brows sit at a normal height and the heaviness comes from extra eyelid skin. Upper eyelid surgery is usually the better first step
- Smoking is part of your routine and you cannot pause it for several weeks around surgery, because it raises the risk of poor healing along the scalp cuts
Which method fits you?
The clinic describes two ways to lift the forehead. The open method lifts the whole forehead through a longer cut in the scalp. The endoscopic method uses a thin camera and a few short cuts instead, and recovery is usually shorter.
| Method | What happens | Suits | Downtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Endoscopic forehead and brow lift | A few short cuts inside the hairline. A thin camera guides the surgeon to free the tissue, release some brow muscles and fix the brow higher. | Low or drooping brows, forehead and frown lines, a hairline that is not high | Usually less swelling and bruising than the open method |
| Open forehead lift | A longer cut in the scalp. The whole forehead is lifted and the cut is closed. | A larger area of sagging that needs a wider lift | Longer swelling and bruising, and a longer scar |

What happens on the day of an endoscopic forehead and brow lift?
- Consultation with the surgeon. You look at brow height, brow angle and your hairline together.
- Sedation, sometimes combined with local anesthesia, keeps you drowsy and comfortable. Ask the surgeon which you will have.
- A few short incisions are made inside the hairline. Guided by the endoscope, the thin camera, the surgeon frees the tissue, divides or trims some of the muscles around the brows and releases the ligament tissue near the tail of the brow.
- The lifted tissue is fixed in place with stitches or small dissolving fixation devices, and the cuts are closed. With no hospital stay listed, you leave for your hotel that day.
What is recovery like after an endoscopic forehead and brow lift?
- Days 1 to 3
- The forehead feels tight and swollen, and swelling or bruising can move down around the eyes. Keep your head raised, including at night.
- Days 5 to 7
- Stitches come out. Bruising starts to fade and you can go out with your hair covering the cuts.
- Weeks 2 to 3
- Most visible swelling has gone. The scalp behind the cuts may feel numb or itchy.
- Months 3 to 6
- Numbness usually fades and the brows settle into their final position.
How long should you stay in Seoul after an endoscopic forehead and brow lift?
Book 7 to 10 days in Seoul. Forehead swelling can drift down around the eyes in the first days, the stitches in the scalp come out on day 5 to 7, and most people fly around day 7 or 8 once the cuts have been checked. Ask the clinic when you can wash and color your hair, and keep away from saunas and hard exercise until the cuts have healed.
What are the risks of an endoscopic forehead and brow lift?
- Numbness or itching of the forehead and scalp, which can last for months
- Hair loss along the cuts, which may need treatment
- A hairline that sits higher than before
- Uneven brows, or brows that look too high
- Injury to the nerve that raises the brow, causing weakness on one side
- Bleeding under the skin (hematoma), infection or poor healing, and in some cases a second operation. If swelling grows fast on one side or the pain becomes severe, contact the clinic straight away; if you cannot reach the clinic, get emergency care. If your vision changes, get emergency care first, then tell the clinic
What affects the cost of an endoscopic forehead and brow lift in Korea?
The endoscopic brow lift has no published price here yet; the clinic quotes after looking at your photos. The quote depends on the method, on how the brow is held in place (stitches or small dissolving fixation devices) and on whether eyelid surgery or a facelift is added. Check that the written quote names the surgeon and lists anesthesia, any fixation devices, follow-up visits and stitch removal.
More questions
Do I need to stay in hospital after an endoscopic forehead lift?
No. The clinic lists no hospital stay, so you go back to your hotel the same day. How long the operation takes depends on how much tissue is released and whether eyelid surgery is added, so ask the surgeon for your own estimate.
Will the scars show?
The cuts are short and sit inside the hairline, so hair usually covers them once they heal. A scar can still widen, and hair can thin along it. Tell the surgeon if you wear your hair pulled back.
Do I need a forehead lift or eyelid surgery?
They treat different things. A forehead lift raises the brow and softens forehead lines. Upper eyelid surgery and a sub-brow lift remove extra eyelid skin. If your brows sit low, lifting them may be enough. If the skin is the problem, eyelid surgery is often the better choice. Some people need both.
When can I fly home after a forehead lift?
Most people fly around day 7 or 8, after the stitches come out on day 5 to 7 and the surgeon checks the cuts.
