Thigh liposuction in Korea

Thigh liposuction removes fat from the inner and outer thighs, including saddlebags, through small cuts, to smooth the outline of the leg. It suits firm skin and fat that has resisted diet and exercise. At our partner clinic, one area takes up to 1 hour under sedation, with about 7 nights in Seoul to cover the stitch check.

Who is a good candidate for thigh liposuction?

  • Your inner thighs rub together when you walk, a problem the clinic mentions
  • Fat on the outer thigh (saddlebags) or the back of the thigh makes trousers fit poorly
  • The fat has resisted weight loss, diet and exercise
  • Your skin is firm, which matters most on the inner thigh

When it may not be the right choice

  • The skin on your inner thighs is already loose or crepey. It is thin and loosely attached there, so removing fat can leave it hanging; a thigh lift removes skin but is not among the procedures the partner clinic lists
  • Your thighs look large mainly because of muscle
  • You hope to lose weight overall. The clinic notes that thigh size often falls only with weight loss across the whole body

Which method fits you?

The clinic plans thigh liposuction around the whole leg. When fat is concentrated on the thighs, it treats the inner and outer sides together, and its area map also includes the front and back of the thigh, the inner line, saddlebags and the line below the buttocks, an area where removing too much fat can make the buttock sag. The surgeon decides how far to go for your legs.

What happens on the day of thigh liposuction?

  1. Consultation. You stand while the surgeon marks the fat on each side of the thigh and checks the skin on the inner thigh, which is thin.
  2. Sedation for single-area thigh liposuction, then small cuts placed where clothing will cover them; ask where yours will go.
  3. Numbing fluid goes in, then fat is removed with a fine cannula from the planned zones. The clinic lists up to 1 hour for one area.
  4. Small stitches close the cuts, and a compression garment that covers both thighs goes on before you leave. No drain is needed.

What is recovery like after thigh liposuction?

Days 1 to 3
Walking and sitting are sore and the thighs are bruised. Keep walking in short spells, because it helps blood flow in the legs.
First week
Daily life is possible right away after one area, the clinic says, though tight trousers and long spells of standing feel uncomfortable.
Day 7
Stitch removal, and the surgeon checks both thighs for swelling and unevenness.
Weeks 2 to 6
Keep the garment on as advised. The inner thighs can feel firm or numb and may look uneven while swelling settles.
Months 1 to 6
The new outline appears gradually, often by about 3 months; full settling can take up to 6.

How long should you stay in Seoul after thigh liposuction?

Plan about 7 nights in Seoul for thigh liposuction and leave after the stitch check at about 1 week. Leg surgery and a long flight both add to the risk of a clot in the legs, so ask for an aisle seat, keep the garment on, flex your ankles, get up to walk when you can and drink water. If you have had a clot before, say so at the consultation, because extra prevention may be needed. If you become breathless or have chest pain, get emergency care first, then tell the clinic.

What are the risks of thigh liposuction?

  • Uneven contours, ripples or dents, especially on the inner thigh where the skin is thin
  • Loose or sagging inner thigh skin after the fat is removed
  • A difference in shape between the two legs
  • Numbness or altered skin feeling, and swelling that can take months to settle
  • Fluid build-up (seroma), bleeding or infection
  • Deep vein thrombosis, a clot in the leg that can break off and reach the lungs; thigh surgery and the flight home both add to it
  • The risks of sedation, or of general anesthesia for a large-volume plan

What affects the cost of thigh liposuction in Korea?

A thigh liposuction quote depends on which zones are treated (inner, outer, front or back), whether the plan becomes large-volume liposuction under general anesthesia, and whether other areas are added. Prices are not listed yet; the clinic works from photos of your legs. A patient coordinator answers first, then the surgeon at the partner clinic that fits your case reviews your photos and consults in depth. Check that the written quote names the surgeon and shows each zone and the anesthesia type. Our consultation is free for you, and you pay only the clinic’s own price for treatment.

More questions

Will thigh liposuction stop my thighs rubbing together?

It can reduce the fat that causes rubbing, which is one reason people ask for it, but how much changes also depends on your muscle, bone and skin. Ask the surgeon what is realistic for your legs before you decide.

What if the skin on my inner thighs is loose?

Inner thigh skin is thin and loosely attached, so liposuction alone can leave it looser. A thigh lift removes skin, with a longer scar and recovery. It is not among the procedures the partner clinic lists, so raise it with the coordinator before you plan.

How soon can I walk normally after thigh liposuction?

You walk on the day of surgery, and walking is encouraged. Expect stiffness and soreness for the first days. The clinic lists daily life right away after one area.

What are saddlebags?

Saddlebags is the everyday name for a bulge of fat on the outer upper thigh, just below the hip. The clinic lists this area with the outer thigh, and it can be treated together with the hip line, depending on your shape.
