Sebbin breast implants in Korea
Sebbin breast implants are silicone gel implants from a French maker, without US FDA approval. Our partner clinic in Seoul, Urban Plastic Surgery, offers the Sebbin Sublimity line for a narrow chest or thin breast tissue. The operation lasts up to 2 hours under general anesthesia or sedation, and a 7 to 10 day stay is usual.
Who is a good candidate for Sebbin breast implants?
- Your chest is narrow but you would like a clear gain in volume. This is one reason the clinic gives for suggesting Sebbin
- You have little breast tissue and thin skin, which the clinic also lists among its reasons
- One breast is noticeably smaller than the other. The clinic lists correcting this among its reasons too
- Your general health is good, your weight has been stable, and you can rest your chest and arms from heavy work for several weeks
When it may not be the right choice
- You want an implant with US FDA approval and US labeling. Sebbin is not among the approved makers, so ask which FDA-approved models the clinic offers
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding now, or hope to be soon
- Your breasts mainly droop rather than lack volume. An implant alone does not lift them, so ask about a breast lift
- You expect an implant brand to remove the usual risks or to last for life. The FDA says breast implants are not lifetime devices
Which method fits you?
Choosing Sebbin settles only the brand. The model, surface, shape and size are still to decide with the surgeon, along with the incision and whether the implant goes above or below the chest muscle. The clinic names the Sublimity line; ask which other Sebbin models it stocks.
| Method | What happens | Suits | Downtime |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sebbin Sublimity | A silicone gel implant from Sebbin. The clinic describes a smooth surface and a cohesive gel, one that holds together rather than flowing. | A narrow chest, thin tissue or uneven breasts, the cases the clinic gives for it | Light activity after 3 to 4 days |
| Other Sebbin surfaces | Models with a textured surface. In 2019 the French regulator, ANSM, withdrew certain macro-textured implants from several makers, Sebbin among them, because of the BIA-ALCL risk. | Ask which surface any Sebbin model offered to you has, and why it was chosen | The clinic lists one timeline for all its implant surgery |
| Mentor or Motiva instead | The two other brands the clinic offers. Each has silicone gel models with US FDA approval and published US labeling. | If FDA approval and US labeling matter to you | Same timeline as Sebbin, according to the clinic |

What happens on the day of Sebbin breast implants?
- Consultation. The surgeon measures your chest wall, breast tissue and skin, then you agree the Sebbin model, size, incision and placement. Since US labeling does not cover Sebbin, ask for the product information and the risks in writing.
- Under general anesthesia or sedation, the Sebbin implant goes into the pocket you planned. No drain is used, and the clinic gives up to 2 hours for this.
- There is no overnight stay: you go back to your hotel wearing a support garment. Keep the implant record the clinic gives you.
What is recovery like after Sebbin breast implants?
- Days 1 to 3
- The chest is sore and swollen and feels tight. Wear the support garment as instructed, and do not carry heavy things or reach above your head.
- Days 3 to 4
- Walking and desk work are usually possible again.
- Days 7 to 8
- Day 7 or 8 brings the check-up. The flight home can follow once the surgeon has looked at the incisions.
- Week 2
- Around 2 weeks after surgery the clinic takes the stitches out. If you have already flown home, use the arrangement you agreed beforehand.
- Month 3
- The implants gradually sit lower and feel softer. Around three months the surgeon can judge the shape.
How long should you stay in Seoul after Sebbin breast implants?
Carry the Sebbin model, size and serial number with your operation notes on the flight home. Sebbin has no US labeling, so bring the product information with you as well. Choosing Sebbin does not change the length of the trip: plan 7 to 10 days, and fly after the surgeon’s day 7 or 8 check of the incisions. The clinic plans 3 to 4 check-ups in total. Find out how many fall before your flight, and how the stitches due at 2 weeks will be removed. If you become breathless or have chest pain, get emergency care first, then tell the clinic.
What are the risks of Sebbin breast implants?
- Capsular contracture: the scar capsule around any implant can tighten, making the breast firm, painful or misshapen
- Implant rupture. A silicone leak can cause no symptoms, so it may be found only on an ultrasound or MRI scan
- A collection of blood or fluid around the implant, infection, or a scar that stays visible
- Numb or oversensitive nipples, visible rippling, breasts that look uneven, or an implant that shifts
- Further operations over the years. The FDA notes that breast implants are not lifetime devices and that problems grow more likely with time
- BIA-ALCL, a lymphoma that can develop around breast implants, more often textured ones. New swelling, a lump or pain in a breast, even many years later, should be checked by a doctor without delay
- Deep vein thrombosis, a clot in the leg that can move to the lungs. Sitting through a long flight soon after surgery raises the risk, so plan the flight with the surgeon
- Whole-body symptoms that some people link to their implants, such as tiredness or joint pain, and the general risks of anesthesia
What affects the cost of Sebbin breast implants in Korea?
What moves a Sebbin quote: the model and its size, where the incision goes, the type of anesthesia, and any other procedure added. The clinic sends a quote after the surgeon reviews your photos, and none is shown here yet. It should name the surgeon and the exact Sebbin model in writing. Ask, too, whether a manufacturer warranty covers the implant and how a claim would work from abroad.
More questions
Are Sebbin implants FDA approved?
No. Sebbin is not among the makers whose breast implants have US FDA approval, so the FDA’s labeling and patient checklist do not describe Sebbin models. The clinic offers Sebbin in Korea; ask it for the product information and risks for the exact model in writing.
Did France ban Sebbin breast implants?
No, France did not ban the brand. In April 2019, France’s medicines regulator withdrew certain macro-textured and polyurethane-coated implants from several makers, including some Sebbin models, because of the BIA-ALCL risk. It did not advise removing implants already in place. Ask which surface your Sebbin model has.
How long do Sebbin implants last?
No implant has a fixed lifespan, and the FDA says none is a lifetime device. A French study followed 205 women who had Sebbin round gel implants for augmentation or reconstruction, for about five years on average: 9 developed firm capsular contracture, 7 had a rupture and 41 had their implants removed. Regular checks help you decide when to act.
Sebbin, Mentor or Motiva: which should I choose?
No brand suits everyone. The clinic lists the same operation and recovery for all three, so the choice rests on the model, surface and size that fit your chest, and on whether US FDA approval matters to you. Compare the exact models with the surgeon.
